The Maldives official name the Republic of Maldives is a group of twenty-six atolls which 1,192 islets placed on Indian Ocean. The Maldives is the smallest Asian country in terms of both population and area and as well with the lowest highest point in the world. The reef is composed of coral debris and living coral. This acts as a natural barrier against the sea, forming lagoons. The Indian Ocean has a great effect on the climate of the country by acting as a heat buffer, absorbing, storing, and slowly releasing the tropical heat. The heat is further mitigated by cool sea breezes.
Maldives become most popular destination in 70's of XX century. Right now are one of the most popular diving destination in the world.
