Italy Description:
Italy official name the Italian Republic is located on the Italian Peninsula in Southern Europe and on the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea Sicily (25,708 km²) and Sardinia (24,090 km²). Italy border with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. Italy is surrounded on the west by the Tyrrhenian Sea and on the east by the Adriatic Sea. The largest lakes are Garda (370 km²), Campotosto lake and the Po which is principal river. In Italy are several volcanoes: Etna, Stromboli and Vesuvius. The most famous places for diving are in Sardinia island and Ustica island which is also known locally as the "black pearl".
Sardinia is a constitutional part of Italy and the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. On the island is a lot of mountainous with a few coastal plains. The island has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and very mild winters. It has few very famous destination for all divers.
Ustica has area of 8 km2. You can easily find a lot of scuba diving schools and diving centres. Recreational divers are attracted by the relatively deep dives, which are a feature of the islands volcanic geology.
